Flavorites ("we", "our", "us") operates the Flavorites mobile application. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Information We Collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and profile photo (if provided). You may sign in with Apple, Google, or email.
Content you create. Restaurant reviews, photos, ratings, and lists you save or share within the app.
Location data. With your permission, we use your device location to show nearby restaurants. We do not track your location in the background.
Contacts. If you grant contacts access, Flavorites sends the email addresses and phone numbers of the contacts you authorize over an encrypted connection to find matching accounts, show their public Flavorites in your For You feed, and notify you when they join if Contact Signups is enabled. Contact names remain on your device. Raw email addresses and phone numbers are used transiently for matching and are not stored as an address book. We store private SHA-256 identifier hashes and matching account IDs linked to your account; these are not shown publicly, used for advertising, or sold. You can restrict or revoke access in iOS Settings. The next sync removes identifiers no longer authorized, and deleting your account deletes its private contact-discovery data. Contact names and phone numbers may also be used on your device to invite friends through the system messaging interface.
Usage data. We collect anonymous analytics to understand how the app is used and to improve the experience. This includes device model, OS version, and in-app actions.
How We Use Your Information

- Show relevant restaurant recommendations and search results
- Display your profile and content to other users (based on your privacy settings)
- Send important service communications
- Improve the app through aggregated, anonymous analytics
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Firebase (Google) for authentication, database, and analytics
- Apple MapKit for maps and location search
- RevenueCat for subscription management
These services may collect data according to their own privacy policies.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only:
- With your consent (e.g., when you share a review publicly)
- With service providers necessary to operate the app (listed above)
- When required by law
Data Retention & Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from the app settings or by emailing [email protected]. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days. Some anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for analytics.
Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS), secure authentication, and Firebase security rules to protect your data.
Children's Privacy
Flavorites is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email.
